H Savy Insurance (HSI) has made the donation to support the 17 families who lost all their possessions in the shocking incident.

The donation was facilitated through a partnership with the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, (RCSS) under the HSI Corporate Social Responsibility program.

It was the RCSS President Mr Kisnan Tamatave who accepted the donation from HSI Corporate Affairs Manager, Ms Marie-Paule Lesperance in a small ceremony that took place at the Pension Fund Complex, Praslin on Wednesday 10th June 2020.

“Like many others in the community, HSI was also very touched by the horrific incident that affected the families, and decided to show our support through a donation,” said Ms Lesperance.

“Each family received a contribution of SCR 3,000 which we hope will be of great help now that they have been relocated to a temporary home,” added Ms Lesperance.

The President of the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, (RCSS) encouraged the families to make good use of the donation and all other assistance provided to them following the incident.

“In order to better assist the families, RCSS has also started a needs assessment which will allow us to focus on the individual needs of all family members, for example parents with small children will require further assistance in the coming months to take care of their infants,” said Mr Tamatave.

Present at the handover ceremony was also another HSI representative from Praslin, Mrs Margaret Lefournour, Red Cross volunteer, Ms Anita Joubert together with the Grand Anse District Administrator, Mr. Moses Barbe.
