The newly renovated office opened its doors on Monday 8th June 2020 on the ground floor of Kingsgate House building.

The office will cater for Life insurance transactions only and all other services offered by HSI on Mahe will remain at the Maison La Rosiere offices.

The opening of the new Life office follows the opening of the HSI Praslin insurance office in 2012.

“Our new Life office offers more space, more convenience and less clutter to better observe social distancing protocols and take our customers' service experience to a higher and safer level,” said the HSI General Manager, Mr Lambert Woodcock.

The Life insurance office which comprises of five staff is headed by HSI newly appointed Life Manager, Ms Michelle Lafortune.

“The new modern office provides a more comfortable working environment for our staff and we were all excited about the move,” said Ms Lafortune.

“Our services of payment of premiums and other policy enquiry remain the same, and we also welcome walk-in customers enquiring about our range of Life insurance products. Our top selling products are Junior Education and the Special Endowments which are great ways to save money for a child's education or a future project respectively.

Ms Lafortune emphasised that Life insurance is often taken for granted because unlike car insurance it is not mandated by law.

“However, if you are a parent, self-employed, or have a mortgage, you should consider what would happen to your dependents if you were to die without proper financial protection. Taking a Life insurance is a crucial element of sound financial planning and advising clients on the best insurance policy for them is all part of the service we offer,” Ms Lafortune added.

With the opening of the new office and recent launch of a new Life Management System HSI is currently looking at new products to diversify its Life portfolio based on market demands and to build our client base.
