Laurent Valentin

Laurent holds a bachelor's degree in Meteorology and Climate (Applied Mathematics) from the University of Reading, UK. He has extensive experience in data science, machine learning and backend software development.

After graduating, Laurent joined Seychelles Breweries Ltd as a Data Analyst where he applied his skillset to push beyond Excel spreadsheets, building critical operational software that underpinned both the commercial and HR departments. There, he also established the data engineering role and made key improvements to operations, showcasing his aptitude for leadership and operational process optimisation.

At H Savy, Laurent leads the data function, drawing on the company's rich datasets to understand both historical trends and forecast future business opportunities across its portfolio. He is also working to build and deploy actuarial models to better understand the company's risk profile.

He is passionate about all things code, maths and youth empowerment.
